So you've decided to take up a tile flooring installation project for your home and have come to a decision to do it yourself. Before anything else, make sure you first research how to do it properly lest you will incur costly mistakes which may not even affect your bank account but also your precious time. While many can handle tile floor installation as a DIY project, and even though it is not rocket science, it still poses some challenges that can inflict pain on your wallet should something go wrong in the process. PROPERLY DO TILE FLOORING INSTALLATION The first step is to familiarize yourself on what needs to be acquired for the upcoming tile flooring installation project. In other words, you need to know what are the tools needed for the task. Why is this so important? Unless you are fully aware of the different tools needed to install, and even fix the flooring installation procedure, then you already have a problem even before you even started. You can purchase just about everything you need at your local hardware store. Talk to the store owner or one of their personnel to gather valuable information about the upcoming project. If you think that getting brand new tools are expensive, you can borrow them at a local tool rental yard. Some of the tools needed for the installation venture are: - Safety Clothing and Gear - glasses, work clothes, heavy duty gloves - Tile cutter, trowel, rubber grout float, tiles spaces, putty knife - bubble level, measuring tape, carpenter's square - A tile bonding material or a tile adhesive, tile grout and sealant Once you have all the necessary tools at the ready, preparing the sub-floor is your next step. Check the floor for cracks and make sure to rid it entirely of debris. Repair the cracks and clean the floor the best as you can. After which, measure and layout the floor for your new tiles. Start out by measuring the length and breadth of the floor. This will allow you to get an estimate on the number of tiles required to be laid. Mark a center point by measuring the length and width of the floor. The intersecting point will be the center and this is where you shall begin. The actual installation comes next. Place the first tile at the center point with the aid of a thin set mortar or tile adhesive. Bond the tile to the sub-floor and continue along going from the center to the outer regions. Once all has been laid out properly, remember to allow 24-hours to let the adhesive dry. However, perhaps the best way of getting your tiles installed properly is to hire professionals to do it for you. This way, you can save a lot of time, money, and effort in the whole project. Companies, such as CCC Floors, will assist you every step of the way.
